I just noticed that my friend Pounamu was interviewed for Mapuna on RNZ last year;

The interview was published on 30 November, just after the Hīkoi mō te Tiriti arrived at Parliament. One of the things Pounamu talks about is staying in a space of manaakitanga when we have difficult intercultural conversations, like the one about whether or not rangatira ceded sovereignty to the Crown when they signed.

At Waitangi, PM #ChristopherLuxon was all in on co-governance...
"The solution actually lies in government being able to do its bit, to... make sure we can consent and get things done quickly, and partnering up with iwi organisations, who know their iwi better than anyone else, they who can get the job done. And rather than doing it all through Wellington, we get the money out of Wellington and get it.. deployed through iwi organisations..."
