Did the inking for #Antumbra logo. I'm really liking how clean it looks this time. More spaced characters and the moon is lower, but I think this leads to a better overall effect.
I am not really sure though where to put the japanese characters... Where they were (bottom right) or on top of the logo? :thinking_rotate:

Inking progresses better than expected! The "trick" of using a 2H pencil line to guide the ink worked great! M.O. from now on: blue lines for general rough draft, 2H pencil for fine lines and details to help inking!

Ended up redoing 2 panels, because the reader (you) would end up not having a clue what was happening!Today I learned two things:
1. when a character is facing one way, keep them facing that way, unless something majorly important needs to be conveyed (change the focus to another character for example),
2. avoid making 180 degrees view turn, as that disorients
3 (bonus). be ready to accept that a page can be completely different from what I had in mind and should end up requiring a redoing.... 😭Edit: man, making comics is a tough thing....

Gradually pushing forward. Panels have been decided (I just didn't have the capacity to even do another line last night XD).It might need some minor changes/tweaks in the panels of the man walking down the corridor, but not sure yet.
After this page Antumbra officially begins in its current timeline with it's first satiating chapter! :D

I've grown distant from the usual grinding exercises because I had to finish a commission for Mr. @jectoons and #Fodongo zine. The result turned out more good than I initially thought I could make, so probably all the cylinders and boxes helped?
Anyway. What I want to do now as part of my art journey sharing is 3 images for a panel that really loved making (panel will be included)!
In the images are the initial draft of how I was thinking of going about the scene. It was very "static", as that showed some sort of powerful guy, but after doing some iterations and played with gestures the final scene actually formed they way it did, much more dynamic, much more powerful, with the guy being so much more full of bloodlust than just "empty" power.

Inking is done! Utterly, and completely done.I am very very pleased and excited and bamboozled with how it turned out the way it did, but environment, and motion/feeling of the prison turned out really good!

Page 2 update:
Inking has started!The light of the alarm might need some improvement but I'll see how that goes...
The alarm sound effect took some time to figure out... I think it corresponds well to a red alert kind of an alarm?I discovered that ink quality plays an important role on fine lining... I used the old one I had on a new bristol paper and I saw some bleeding (the ink flows a bit outward from the initial line done with the nib), which made the lines quite meh and uncontrolled. Will use a new japanese one so maaaaybe there will be some inking variance on the page... Hopefully it will be unnoticeable in the final result :P

Nearly done with blue lining!
It took me quite some time to get the man's face right... in order to look the same as the one in page 1 :P
I still need to figure out the details on the final panel with the dude coming out of a cell, though...And then it's inking time!

Page 1 update:
Ladies and gents and everyone else!
Inking of this page is finally done!! Maybe I'll add some fines lines via hatching for extra effect here and there but it's done :DTools used: menso brush for the heavy inking with gear and blackness of space, and g-pen nib :) (scissors and glue and another brush and white ink for corrections, I hate to admit XD)
Next step is going to be digitization and adding screentones but I will not share that because it's not traditional and I like to stick to showing only traditional process, and mostly because this work will be published in #fodongo zine soon, so it's a sly way to push you to read it there and support it :chick_devil_cute: :chick_devilish:
