ah, context helps a lot here.
When you say ‘neurodivergent’ do you mean:
A) #Allistic (neurotypical and neurodivergent); or
B) Autistic?
I got to learn the meaning of allistic a little while ago and remember this distinction. It’s an important difference in terms of discussions here imo. I’m allistic but neurodivergent (I have not been diagnosed autistic but I’m not neurotypical either). The above aside, it should not matter what one’s brain circuitry is like, the onus is on the #teacher/#instructor to ensure the #driver/#rider is fully equiped to drive/ride before being licensed to do so. Imagine what would happen if we handed gun licenses the same way that driver licences are currently handed out. A vehicle is just as dangerous as a gun I would argue.
Everyone is different and every one ‘learns’ differently (the bane of teaching I gather from what I hear because of the diverstiy of strategies and learning experiences teaching demands — with bugger all extra staff to cope with the load, but that’s an entirely different matter).
#Testing is an important part sure, but that testing should also come with #PracticalLessons. Something like a #DefensiveDriving course on a dedicated off-street #track in the driver’s own vehicle. Drivers ought to be taught not only the #RoadRules and the mechanical aspects of #operating a specific piece of #machinery (car, Ute, bike, SUV, urban tractor, etc.), they should also be taught *roadcraft* while getting to know their ride and how to handle their own machinery under stress. Etc… and that’s only the beginning. #Roads need to be safer and in good order. #Signage needs to be comprehensive (maybe even electronically connecting with vehicles HUD). And lots more… #Policing needs a total revamp to get the ‘nazis’ off traffic policing, training them to suit the duties involved (they are dealing with people not perpetrators, more visible on-road presence, technolgically up to date, etc. And the speed-mafia ought to shut their trap and concentrate on the real road killer: ‘distraction’.
I do go on when I get started… sry
Just now thinking about technology that would allow a traffic patrol to electronically pair with a vehicle driven by an offender and taking over control to mimic the patrol car’s behaviour, slowing down, pulling off to the side and switching the ignition off (or battery off). No more dangerous and potentially killer pursuits. Dashcam records everything and uploads copies to driver and police alike to ensure impartiality and fairness in law. That sort of thing.

Huh, this is clever. It uses the existing bucket curl cylinder, super easy build, no messing with hydraulics at all.
💡 I wonder if I can design one for the quick-fitting I've got and how much force that would get me.

I don't know what these two huge pieces of #industrial #machinery are or what they were used for. There's really no info provided at the site to help identify the old abandoned things that you see there. If you know what these are, please educate me - TIA!
We decolonized a BC government sign before leaving the site. We saw many toxic black tar pools, all across this abandoned coal mine site.
