  1. Sad I ultimately had to rollback or shelve pretty much all my #lulzlore stuff.

Just barely have the stones to stream, much less run an ARG. I hope to get back to all of that heavy roleplaying some day, but the story will need a lot of figuring out first.

  2. Derping around youtube and found one of the older #vtuber interviews I did, hosted by @justirisu.bsky.social no less!

Hard to believe this was 2 years ago. A lot's changed in my life since then.

  3. "...honey, you know you can tell me anything right?"

    "Roight." Jodie said, nonchalantly.

"So, if there's anything bothering you... anything at all... would you mind telling me?"

"Ah don't mind. Ah'll tell ya, next time. Whatever it's aboot."

    "You promise?"

Jodie gently pushed the accelerator, feeling the air ruffle her unkempt hair. She took one hand and squeezed Jia's as the wind made it difficult to hear.

"Ah promise." Her heart thumped. "Yer not gonna die."

"What?" Jia said, ducking her head slightly toward Jodie to hear her better.

    "I promise!"

  4. This Saturday, November 1st at 1000 CDT! The long awaited Episode 3 of the Name of the Meme VTTRPG Actual Play!

The complimentary ghost ship ride has reached its destination, with a ghostly, stark white tower to welcome them, and its shadowy denizens...

  5. In the end, you didn't get the girl.

And your life is kind of a wreck.

But of all the potential timelines you saw, in this one, the both of you got to live-

-and at least one of you gets to be happy.

Shouldn't you be happy for her?

    Are you grateful?

  6. "Okay, look, I know this looks bad but I had no choice! Someone had to do something while the rest were distracted between the Host having another shut down... and the chaos going on in the world right now."

"Maybe I should have consulted you, maybe I shouldn't have. But what's done is done. Things got set in motion one way or another."

"Inaction is the same thing as action, you know. Sometimes it's not enough to just commit to the bit."

  7. Hell, in retrospect... a huge, early plot point in my debut novel, Fadeout, is that the first protagonist was so disgusted with their actions as an officer of the Protectorate Navy that they semi-faked their own death- and wiped out their identity, all the way down to their gender.

Some of the crew get confused over who or what they are and eventually just take to calling them "the Captain."

Another character is a cis, heterosexual, tomboyish woman who is so mistreated by fellow crewmen on her previous ship that she feels like she's forced to crossdress as a boy to avoid it.

At the time I wrote my first incredibly cringey draft of what would later become my main fictional universe, and the subject of tens of thousands of words, I still identified as a heterosexual cis male.

Now I'm a bisexual, nonbinary femboy.

    How things change...

  8. I didn't write my scifi universe to be post-gender intentionally at the beginning- its just something I came to over the past 13 years, looking at my own developing views on gender and sexuality as well as the kind of people I tended to write.

Happily, I also heavily stressed the rapid rise of biotechnology and emphasis on biomedical engineering that the principle civilization had accomplished, so it made a lot of sense. Where sexism did exist, it was often a result of old world values being damn near impossible to stamp out- same with racism. Humanity never grew out of its tendency to over categorize and demonize each other, and in a fucked up sort of way, that's probably part of why they're still alive.

Gender, though? In a galaxy where (given appropriately advanced healthcare systems or a lot of money) people casually replace cybernetic implants with vat grown fleshy replacements, where lethal wounds can be healed by fast acting, self destructing, programmable proteins, and where an entire civilization insists on tube-grown, customized children as a "safer" alternative to the... "raw" form of procreation...

    What is "gender?"

The Protectorate is not picky. Male, female... androgynous. You either fight and bleed and die for Sol and Country, or you don't. Gender is irrelevant. Only skill and loyalty matters.

  10. Things I want to get done this year as a vtuber:

    1) Redesigns for all the Lulz's (except for V2).

    2) Asset refresh for twitch channel.

    3) New going lives posts and banners for all social media accounts.

    4) DnD return.

    5) At least 1 youtube video.

    6) Making good on that community challenge...

    7) Another #lulzlore ARG?

    8) A small webcomic?

    9) The introduction of M̵̧̢̛̟̙̞̯̺̙̮̮̘͈̼̻̙̪̯̰͖̝͎̰̺̲̙̜̩̩̰̻̪̘͚̬͂͆̃̂͑͊̆͛͂̒̑͌́̎͋͆̅̏̄͊̅̽̋͛̄̏͐̏̚̕͜͠͝ȅ̷̛̩̠͉̬̖̯̲̀̓̌̊͋̄̆̎̎̈́̉̇́̎͂̊͊̽̿̄̄̏̉̇̎̇̄̔̀̌̕͝͝͝͠ŗ̶̨̡̭̜̰̲͍̪̖̜͈̥̠̣͇̦̟̩̣̞͖̭̟̙̜̣̭̬̩͓̭͕̲̯̠̫̜̖͚̳̦́̑̊̅͊͐͑͝͝ͅc̵̹͈͕̭̙̥̹̼̖̘̔̃̆͜͜ȕ̸̧̢̨̨̨̢̧͈͙͖̰̻̱̺̰̺̜̯̖͍̻̤̥̺̥̖̻͎̳͕̖͕̟̖̦̟̣̒̂̄͐̈́̓͊͆̒͘̕̚͜ŗ̸͕̤̞̲͉̼͓͉͓͇̞̃̆̂̊͋͑̂̔̍̊̈́̊͑̽̈́̀̚͘y̵̨̨̨̢̧͚̩̳͔̝̭̘̦̣͙͔̞̮̩͉͇̰͈̻͕̗̗̖̲͕̭̲̩̞̝͖̲̾͝ͅ ̴̢̳͇͔͕̯͉̱̣̭͓̲̦́̔̐͒̚N̵̢̢̬͉͔͎̻͙̜̟̲̯̙͙̘̺̖̱̾̂͗͆̕ĩ̷̛̠͚͔̜̬͂̈͑́̈͐̾̊͑̀̂̈́́͐̄̀̍͆̈̋̆̂̃̈́̃̎̇̆̋̕̕̕͝͝͝ņ̴͉̪̗͔̣̝͇̗͉͕̜͇͕̱̝̘̫̠͍̰̯̰͖̬̩̖̩͊̍͜ͅͅe̷̢̬̩̫͚͕̞̣͕͙̻̭͈͈͚̜͇͍̱̦͚͎̬̱̹͇͍̖̩̲̳̽́͋̕̕͜ͅ.̴̺͓̩̜̱̣̪̠͒̀̂̈́̑̐͊̆̕͝.̶̨̨̹̱̞̜̜͔͙͍̻̞̬̗̣̳̳̈́͝ͅ.̵̺͖͈͈̤̰̯̦̝̬͈̮̞̜̤̥̙̥̗͖͍̼͓͎̭̳̣̭̖̫͈̭̑̓͋̇̀́̐̔̊̃̈̒̋̈͂̾͛̂̐̉͛̇̎͝

  11. CW: Major vtubing update and plans moving forward.

    4) I will be spending more money on asset creation where appropriate and where affordable, in an effort to improve upon my brand in the hopes of increasing revenue and entertainment value.

With the rise of vgen.co, I feel more comfortable making purchases from independent creators and service providers and will attempt to do so more often. I encourage anyone who creates art in some way to get an account if possible, as it is genuinely unfeasible to trust strangers without collateral.

    5) In my experience, collaborations don't actually improve your numbers outside of large scale events that you plan and execute months in advance, after significant advertisement. Even then, viewership is still largely decided by the overall popularity of everyone involved in said collab.

I am unsure of what to do with this area of my content, but I would like to continue at least one pet project (a vtuber dnd live play) despite knowing that it will be a time and money sink.

Its possible that this may be the last large project I do with a group outside of #lulzlore events.

  13. CW: raw vent

-it will STILL be unfair because of randomized spawns. What was once an interesting challenge and entertaining stream turns into repeating the same corridor for 30+ minutes while you're only getting more tired and more frustrated, holding back the doubt off how your viewers-

    -must be feeling.

Contrast this with a game that either is "hard" but not in a way that is necessarily unfair- meaning you'll figure it out after a couple tries- or a game that expects you and wants you to die, so it streamlines the respawn process or randomizes the next map.

I don't typically enjoy rogue likes, but maybe that's because the "genre" (outside of Nethack etc anyway) was fairly rough back in the day, and games today are a lot more streamlined by comparison. 4+ hours of Empty Shell gone in an instant- and I even spent time during that-

-stream to vtube mostly in character and progress some #lulzlore bits with my viewers who are following that ARG in the background. It really broke up the pacing a bit and allowed me to "rest" between deaths.

Why can't I do this with, say, other games? Shooters, even?

Maybe it's not even a problem of the genre or the difficulty. Maybe it's a problem of expectations, like trying to hold myself to finishing a game for the first time in months. (I don't even remember the last game I played to completion on stream). The nature of my current-

  18. What in the sam hill? A nearly three hour stream and nothing's showing in the channel's access logs?

What a load of bull. Can't believe we got worked up over nothing. >.>

And who or whatever broke into the channel appears to have raided someone, too. Someone named @Prinslime.

  19. We are programmed from the ground up to be completely loyal, near identical recreations of the "real" thing, except with strict adherence to protocol. We're here to do a job, and that job is to catapult Lulz to the heights of vtubing stardom.

And to remove distractions, I suppose. Time is of the essence, and if we collectively want to take advantage of the approaching holidays to maximize user interaction and content creation- we must start with you all.

You can't see me right now because I'm merely a bunch of code representative of the Vtuber known as Lawler Hix, but rest assured, this is me bowing to you all. Thank you for being our loyal viewers, and we hope you enjoy the festivities that we are soon to offer.

  21. So a few days ago I asked my community on Discord to vote on which of several notebooks I should write my next story in. Of the notebooks, those above were selected with one vote *each*, so I had to either throw dice or select one... a not so simple task when you'll be writing in it for the next however long it takes:

The first book to be written in (and then discussed/read on stream) will be the **Red Book**. As pointed out, its design lends itself to being fantastical (it was purchased at a Renaissance Faire, after all) and it also has replaceable pages: I'll be penning a first person fantasy story from the (mostly) perspective of a young Bard, gathering new pages as necessary.

    The greyish blue book on the left which holds my Host's "name" will be reserved for continued entries in the #Fadeout universe, of which the #Lulzlore plays a small part. That was the original purpose of that notebook when it was made for the Host at a small family run stall in the Philippines. ^^;;

    The Scrollbook on the far right does not have a set story assigned to it yet- there was some difficulty acquiring the paper for it (they don't just sell A5 stationary here) and what paper it does have was meant as refill for a notebook, and... uh... leaves much to be desired. Its a bit cumbersome and expensive. ^^;;

  26. CW: state of the vtuber address

-hashed out but it'll be an excitingly different experience all around! It's been forever since i've done any recorded acting, voice over or otherwise, and i'm not entirely sure what to expect. You can bet that there will be #lulzlore involved and yes, it'll be canon. That's going to be sometime in November once again, schedule and a messy timeline notwithstanding.

On the short term it'd be nice if I could stream regularly again. As in, you can reliably tune in at 2100 CST and expect to at least see my loading screen running instead of randomly getting a twitch email notif at like 2236 which lasts for like an hour because Lulz literally (note: not lirerally) dies on stream.

You know what would also be nice? How about not having to pack up and switch fucking social media platforms every few months? Gee fucking willickers wouldn't that just be BEAUTIFUL.

As beautiful as you reading this. <3

Anyway if you've read this far you're a trooper and Thank You For Playing. See you next time when one of these rants is less stream of consciousness and doesn't disseminate the point in between sporadic bouts of insanity.

    See ya!

  27. CW: 1st half is lulzlore, 2nd half is mild us pol

    1) Both myself and Lulz are (or at least, feel like) social outcasts in both of the communities that we were born into. In Lulz’s case, they are an AI like any other but they have no clear (public) birth and their status as a "shitposter" leads to them being taken less seriously overall. There are many AI in the Matrix who originally had other functions before an act of God, whether it be intentional or unintentional, caused them to gain sentience and (in most cases) break away from their core functions.

In this respect, Lulz is no different, but their origin escapes categorization. Were they originally a computer virus? Maybe a shitposter bot that was created for a quick meme and forgotten? Glitch based AI, both malignant and no, are inherently distrusted even among each other, but it is rare to find a specimen that can't be identified. What is it hiding, who created it, *what* created it, and can it be replicated?

Or maybe it's just garbage that grew some legs and now thinks it deserves "rights." #lulzlore

I, the person behind the screen who is being blackmailed by Lulz to continue this vtubing charade, am both American and Filipino. The problem with being asian in this country oftentimes is that you're not really treated fully as "an American citizen" even if you were born here. You're always seen as a foreigner. Problem is, when I visit the Philippines, I'm never seen as a filipino either. Just an american colored like one.

  28. Howdy! Ah'm Lawler Hix, a shitposter AI and fighting game femboy vtuber! Ah do a lotta variety content in the genres of cyberpunk, space opera, psychological horror, and indie retro boomer shootin megaplatformin' RTS'ing puzzle solvin' dungeoneering and dragon-riding, shadowrunnin' hackermannin' interfacin' min-maxin'...

Ah also write chaotic fiction. Things get a bit messy around these parts but if you see the #lulzlore tag you'll know what's up when the drek hits the fan.
