El 1 de julio de 1916, cerca de la villa de La Boisselle (norte de Francia), el Ejército Británico excavó un túnel bajo una fortaleza alemana llamada #Schwabenhöhe.
Los artificieros colocaron 30 toneladas de amonal y lo hicieron explotar.
La explosión se escuchó desde Londres, dejó un cráter de 100m de diámetro y 33m de profundidad.
En 1998 todavía aparecían restos de soldados en las inmediaciones del cráter #Lochnagar. -
