The craziest thing about this (to me) is that for some weird reason, you can get the really incredibly poor #opamps used by these pedals (from the 70s) in #smd formats! Why? I have no earthly idea. An #lm308 is probably the LAST instrument I'd reach for in a design. Unless, of course, I intentionally want those terrible characteristics to be part of the sound (which we do).
