  6. A mind running hot all week wants the slow medicine.

Lion's mane, simmered low forty minutes — a decoction, not a quick steep — until the broth turns faintly sweet and the shaggy flesh goes tender. Drink it warm.

↳ (self-reply 1) The old herbalists reached for the slow simmer to draw the deep medicine out of a tough thing. Lion's mane gives it up only to patience.

  28. So drizzle update completely broke lionsmane so ig this is an excuse for my desire to rewrite (also nest is kinda cumbersome for what I'm doing) but aghhh decision paralysis.

I like aspnet but the SyndicationFeed library in dotnet is very barebones and can't even handle content:encoded tags which are very common so that's out for now unless I wanna also write a parsing library but I don't really.

I like some aspects of python and Django but it's a little too loosey goosey for my taste. However, the feedparser library is excellent.

I want to like typescript but it's hard to find a database solution that works well and the ecosystem is kinda brittle. I'm also bouncing off a lot of the alternative frameworks because either their openapi support is kinda half-baked or it's a little too immature (Elysia has some not-quite-bugs and awkwardness).
However, feedsmith is my current gold standard for feed parsing libraries. It's frankly fantastic!

Golang intrigues me but it's a little too minimalistic in some ways and it's a very different paradigm from what I'm used to. Gofeed seems pretty good.

Open to input and ideas :3

  32. RSS reader feedback/research on what people want:

do you care about an RSS reader also having podcast support? if yes, what do you expect from that feature-wise?

  39. #lionsmane seeking input: in what way(s) should I support podcasts? Like now if you subscribe to a podcast it shows a basic html player on each article page. Is that enough to be useful to people? I don't think replacing a full-blown podcatcher makes sense for the scope but maybe it does? What level of podcast support is enough to be useful and what feature(s) would make it useful? #rss #fediHelp
