An actor is a "thing" such as "a mouse" and an action is "what it's doing." An example would be "sleeping." A lot of times, when someone's saying something, there's an actor as well as an action contained in it. That knowledge isn't particularly useful for speaking a language though. I'm not sure why they place so much importance on it. #world #language_learning #duolingo #learning_french

Dear diary, I was just reading the tips section for French Basics 1 on Duolingo, and I think these are the most crucial elements of what Duolingo is trying to teach: 1) Actors 2) Actions 3) Sound variations and 4) Pronouncing sounds consistently. I'm starting my thousand day streak today apparently. I'll keep you posted. #world #language_learning #duolingo #learning_french
