A Forgotten Practice

A lot of successful people underestimate the power of human capital. The conversations are too transactional; apprenticeship and shadowing someone is not something that comes to the minds of urban educated population. Senior folks have stopped thinking beyond employment and partnerships.

India’s unorganized sector is far more generous in this regard where providing a platform to someone to stand on is much more comfortable than getting benefited out of them. A mechanic, a shopkeeper, a contractor – will take a kid on with no clear return in mind, just to give them an opportunity to stand. They do it more freely than people with far more to spare.

And it not just helps the society or the nation but also the leader themself either directly by the inputs and work of their followers or indirectly in various form factors.

This mindset that junior folks don’t match the caliber of already successful people is hurting the leaders too in ways they cannot predict beforehand. We need to start seeing humans as equals; even a newborn can teach you a lot about life.

Far more can be done if people come together but we have created this artificial scarcity around us. The world is abundant and wealth is infinite. Extend your hand out for others and you will reach your goals faster.

I`m quite tiny, and when I went to look at a "guitar" after seeing an advert it turned out to be a Dreadnought; the seller gave it to me and it nearly went through the floor, dragging me behind it, no way could I hold that in the air.
I`m not planning on performances, just plucking it for my own amusement, slowly getting better. But would learning on that hold me back when I moved up to full size ?
