New research finds that removing senescent macrophages from the liver, which accumulate with age and LDL cholesterol exposure, reduces liver inflammation, liver size, and body weight in mice. Similarities between senescent macrophages in mice and humans suggest this finding has therapeutic value.

For individuals with metabolic syndrome, a two-day calorie-restricted diet of oats produced a 10 percent decrease in LDL. The reduction persisted for 6 weeks. A six-week lower-dose supplementation with oats was not as effective. The gut microbiome shifted to increase metabolism of phenols, and those metabolites may have a role in LDL reduction.

I used #AI to learn how to lower my #LDL #cholesterol by feeding several days of my food log information to #ChatGPT and using the prompt: "Analyze these food logs and suggest changes to dramatically lower LDL cholesterol." The result: I need to lower protein intake by about 25% and increase vegetable intake by 50%. I had to interpolate the results, but It was way easier and more productive than sitting through a 90 minute Zoom class with a dietician.

#Goednieuws voor de kaasliefhebber. Volvette kaas is #niet ongezonder dan magere voor wat betreft risico op hart-vaatziekten, diabetes en overgewicht. Dat weten we trouwens al jááren.
Ondanks tig onderzoeken blijft het Voedingscentrum echter volhouden: "Kaas is gezonder dan je denkt, maar 30+ blijft het advies" en "volvette 48+ kaas niet in de Schijf van Vijf".Gaat het hier nu over voedingsadvies of over gezichtsverlies?
