I teach an upper-level law school seminar called Think Like a Lawyer: Basic Elements of American Legal Analysis. We cover liberty and tyranny, sovereignty, prosperity (trade, commerce, labor), and enfranchisement (broadly understand, not just suffrage) and democracy. Today we begin our four sessions on enfranchisement and democracy. Some thoughts as I prepare for the class.
