According to the weather radar, we’re gonna get shalacked with a nifty storm system within the hour. I can already feel things start to cool down here on deck a bit as that bad boy approaches. This tune seems a logical choice at this point.

Huge fucking storm system going through a good chunk of central and northern Wisconsin at the moment; steady rain, lightning and thunder.

"L.A. Woman" is a song by the American rock band #theDoors. The song is the title track of their 1971 album #LAWoman, the final album to feature #JimMorrison before his death on July 3, 1971. In 2014, #LAWeekly named it the all-time best song written about the city of Los Angeles. In 1985, fourteen years after Morrison's death, #RayManzarek directed, and #RickSchmidlin produced a music video for the song.

Sunday, snowbound, & #NowListening to #LAWoman by #TheDoors.
This, on balance, is my favourite #Doors album - Morrison, in particular, is on fire, & the overt blues roadhouse vibe is definitely my thing.
This is the reissue by #AnalogueProductions cut at 45. I don’t have anything with which to compare it, but Morrison growls, the guitar wails, & so it sounds plenty good to me.
The packaging, as always, is on point.

Change of mood: #NowListening to #TheSoftParade by #TheDoors.
This, closely followed by #LAWoman, is my favourite of their albums. Viewed objectively, the swings in style shouldn’t work (e.g. Touch Me into Shaman Blues). However, the lush Phil Spector-type arrangements, the musicianship, & #JimMorrison in fine voice, is unique & irresistible.
This #AnalogueProductions reissue mastered at 45 by #DougSax has depth & detail, but thunders when needed.
