Happy #LetterboxdFriday ! My #LastFourWatched for this week:
Sirens (1994) - 3.5/5, the filmmakers' ambition exceeds their ability, but I admire the effort
Flight to Mars (1951) - 2.5/5, would have been a lot better without the chauvinism
The Messenger (1999) - 3.5/5, too long but thoughtful commentary on religion and politics
Big Fish (2003) - 4/5, I always get misty-eyed at the end

Interesting movie week!
Cold Road (3 stars) - This one was actually really tense but I felt like the acting wasn't great. Still a good commentary on violence against indigenous women.
Exit 8 (4 stars) - Pretty neat concept if you like time loop stuff.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople (5 stars) - We needed to watch a Sam Neill movie and this one is just so good!
Mimics (2.5 stars) - Evil ventriloquist dummy movie, didn't love it. -
