On Sat night one of our friends left her phone in an Uber. Before I heard that, she'd
- used 'find my phone' on her partner's phone, could see hers driving round the city
- tried logging into Uber on his phone, got stuck with a 4-digit code sent to her lost phoneAt this point I heard what had happened and got very excited, "I've just heard this exact story in a keynote talk at a conference!"
Used the handy form that got added after @rufflemuffin 's adventure, everyone delighted.

“Every startup must build a product that is **at least 10 times better at doing something** than the current prevailing way. Two or three times better will not be good enough …to get people to switch to the new thing fast enough or in enough volume”

The importance for orgs is not to have great ideas. Any org has ideas. The importance is the ability to kill bad ideas.

Why your ‘Brilliant’ technology fails to have impact, Tom Adeyoola #lascot
We need an idea to solve a real customer issue
Customers always want:
- Quality
- Convenience
- Price -
@kjscotland uses the term 'fidelity' to represent the use of iterative development as the core of a successful view of the iron triangle. #lascot

We are responsible
We cannot not have a stance

Interrogate our motivation

Cynefin: we don’t know the best solution, so we throw different stuff and see what sticks and that will probably drive us up. One way to walk the complexity.
-
But … complexity, constraints and conflicting goals make decision making hard in practice 🤷
(therefor the best action is no action, which is actually saying we don’t want to think about it) -
Consequentially, our actions have consequences!
-> choose those actions that promote overall well-being
#lascot -
questions to ask …
What world do we want to live in?
Why we care? Empathy, Peace of mind, We really want flourishing masses -
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should... thoughts on ethical product delivery, Marcel Britsch #lascot
Ethical decisions in product development
=>
Optimise for the well-being of conscious creatures -
Automated scripting closes the correctness not the goodness!
Therefore it cannot take away testers!!!
Any org thinking they can do without testers coz automated testing is losing a massive amount of value.

The slide deck of the @LeanAgileScot pre-conference meetup talk "Shades of Conway's Law" is available online.
I was pleasantly surprised to have so many interested attendees. Thank you!
Thank you also for the kind and gentle feedback afterwards. That was totally unexpected 😊https://thinkinglabs.io/talks/2022/08/26/shades-of-conways-law.html
