I'm convinced that the size of comb forms in #Langstroth hives does not apply to our local bees. They all want to build bigger comb. Naturally drawn wax (no foundation) always has larger cells. The bees of the 1850's are not the bees of today (at least, not whatever hybridized variety dominates in Southern California). #beekeeping #bees
