The cashier at Dollar General asked me if I had my $5 coupon with me. When I told her I didn't know there was one she said she had one back there and she'd apply it my purchases. I told her how sweet she was for doing that.

I have a leather coat that I can no longer wear because it is too heavy on my shoulder. I've had it for years, but it is in good shape. I was going to take it to the fire department for their winter coat drive, but I remembered an older woman that works at a convivence stores in town. She doesn't seem to have a whole lot. This morning I asked her if she'd like to have it, she was thrilled. I'll take it to her next weekend when she works again. I feel good for a change.

I tried to explain to my husband once again how good it is to be on #Mastodon. I explained that here people are kind, friendly and so much different from all the hate filled people on Twitter. I told him how I'd wished I'd come over here long before I did but how I'm glad I finally did. He doesn't understand 100% but he is happy that I found a place I can enjoy. The place where I work has a pay forward scheme called the Kindness Menu
People can pay for a drink or a meal for someone else, we add it to the fridge and whoever's short on pennies can come in and use the sticker as a token for a free meal/coffee/tea
