Making a sour cherry pie, and have abandoned internet recipes. I forgot my bookshelf holds my MIL's copy of the Kate Aitken cookbook.
I learned to cook with this as a teenager, and would always guffaw at the "your daughter is launched" section at the end, picturing my mom smashing a bottle into my side, as for a ship.
Looks like a good basic pie recipe.
The phrase "nowadays apples are available the year round" is something!
