On day 6 of my first Japan trip 20 years ago, I went to Kamakura. I got to watch some Kyudo practice at Engakuji Temple, and walked the Daibutsu Hiking Course to arrive at the Big Buddha during the height of cherry blossom season.

Eigentlich wollten wir in #kamakura den #Daibutsu im Kōtoku-in anschauen gehen, hatten uns aber was die Entfernung angeht und bei über 35°C doch etwas verschätzt, und hatten es daher nur bis zum Kenchō-ji #tempel geschafft. #japan 🇯🇵 🛕

Waiting for our train back to #Shinjuku after a fab day exploring #Enoshima and #Kamakura.

Today I rode around Kamakura and Enoshima on a ママチャリ in insane winds (no wonder surfers love this town), ate matcha ice cream for lunch and amazing black vinegar soba for dinner, and took some pics. Fuji-san was covered in clouds, sadly.
