Открывая установщик, довольный клиент находит красивую коробочку – сопла монтажной головы. А вот какие из них должны устанавливаться в эту самую голову – вопрос, начисто убивающий беззаботную радость от покупки. В маленькой заметке я постараюсь еще сильнее усугубить это чувство и рассказать о некоторых последствиях неверного выбора.

Getting to know my new machine (Juki Kirei UX8). It sews everything like through butter. Without needing my feet (that red button in the photo below). And so easy to thread that I was happy to change multiple times - something I usually try to avoid.

Reinforced a couple of tapestries (easy start), patched a ripped sleeve with deco stitches (lovely, even in a fiddly spot), patched and reinforced the crotch of some trousers (loads of layers, incredibly neat), and then added elastic to pants (my nemesis task, but it went ok, first time).

Back is now screaming at me (silly spinal arthritis), but I haven’t had this much fun sewing since my old super-basic Elna that I left with mum. ❤️

I finished my first bag on the industrial yesterday. It’s not perfect but it’s not bad.

It turns out the thread cutter wasn’t working because part of it wasn’t installed. Spouse did great work in watching videos and looking at diagrams and figuring out how to get the other part properly installed, and now it works great! This was the last big essential to getting things more or less back to functional.

I’m still having a hard time getting my bobbins properly wound (I might need to smack the winding spindle around a bit as many of the bobbins are freely spinning on it, and not actually winding thread up) but I have at least a few that work ok so I’m not totally blocked here.

Das ist hart. Ich hänge den halben Vormittag schon am Telefon. Die nächste Werkstatt ist in Hamburg und lässt sich die Anfahrt nach Perleberg vergolden...
Vielleicht kennt jemand das Problem? Der Fadenschneider arbeitet nur, wenn die Maschine vorher Zick-Zack genäht hat. Beim Gradstich schneidet sie nicht. Die beiden Klingen habe ich bereits getauscht. Es handelt sich um eine #Juki LZ-2290A-SS7
