I will be watching to see if Caputo develops his ideas about the relationship between Ethics and community further. I think he plays with this quite a bit in The Weakness of God, if I remember right.
Immediately before this passage, he states that his pluralistic understanding of the Good, which celebrates creation and dissent, "gives rise to a certain 'weak' community, one in which obligation is recognized, but in which the space of difference is also recognized."
