It is incredibly frustrating how much local concert information gets locked inside the Instagram. To help fix this, I’ve added an open, accessible `/events` section to my site to track, archive, and share live music happening around #İzmir.

All data is fetched from @musicbrainz. The goal is to make upcoming gigs discoverable for the community and preserve the history of past shows, making sure to fully credit everyone involved.

You don’t need an account to see it, and it includes venue maps, photo galleries, and subscribe-able Webcal, Atom, and JSON feeds.

I’ll drop some example entries in the replies to show off the gallery feature!

Temple of Artemis
The main structures and artifacts in Ephesus, the first city made entirely of marble, are explained below: The Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the world, is the first temple of the ancient world built of marble and its foundations date back to the 7.century BC. Built by the Lydian king Croesus, and dedicated to the goddess Artemis, the building was decorated with bronze sculptures designed by the Greek architect Chersiphron and made by the greatest sculptors of the period, Pheidias, Polycleitus, Kresilas and Phradmon. Its size is 130x68 meters and its façade faces west like other Artemis (Mother Goddess) temples. The temple was used both as a marketplace and as a religious institution. The Temple of Artemis was burned on July 21, 356 BC by a Greek named Herostratus, who wanted to immortalize its name. On the same night, Alexander the Great was born. When Alexander the Great conquered Anatolia, he offered help to rebuild the Temple of Artemis but was refused. Only a few marble blocks have survived from the temple. Excavations on the Temple of Artemis were initiated in 1863 by archaeologist John Turtle Wood with the contributions of the British Museum, and in 1869 the foundations of the Temple of Artemis were reached at a depth of 6 meters.

Ephesus (Ancient Greek: Ἔφεσος; Turkish: Efes; possibly from Hittite Apāša) was an ancient city located in Ionia, near present-day Selçuk in İzmir Province, Turkey. Founded by Attic and Ionian Greeks in the 10th century BC on the site of Apasa, it later became part of the Roman Republic in 129 BC. Ephesus was renowned for its Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, as well as the Library of Celsus and a large theatre. The city played an important role in early Christianity and hosted significant councils. After destruction by the Goths in 263 and gradual decline due to harbour silting, Ephesus was partially ruined by an earthquake in 614. Today, its ruins are a major tourist attraction and were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015.
