One of the nicest things about getting older is when your kids end up in places you don’t mind visiting. That’s how I felt when our daughter Kiran moved to Ithaca. Before that, she was in Oberlin, Ohio, and then Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. These are not bad places exactly, but they’re far. Eight to eleven hours by car far.
