  1. A followup on my #inkyphat install on my #pizerow - Turns out, simply running the #Pimoroni install script inside a virtual environment was still not going to work. Thus far, I've managed to delete the /usr/lib/python3.11/EXTERNALLY-MANAGED file and the script proceeds. I even get the examples downloaded only to get the "NameError: name 'false' is not defined. Did you mean: 'False'?" error. Same as before.

I thought this hardware would be a nice out of the box solution to tinker with for a display. Sigh.

  6. Turns out, the #python #virtualenvironment thing wasn't too bad to use. I was able to get the packages installed under an activated environment without issue. Actually getting my #inkyphat to work has proven problematic still. I have a suspicion that the example scripts were all written before the change to python. Anyone here able to get a #Pimoroni #inkyphat to successfully run its demo since the change?

  11. So, thank you all for the advice here. Virtual environments are kind of intimidating for me to use. So far, I've created one and used pip3 to install the files needed for my #inkyphat display. Seems to have gone well, but the building metadata step is taking forever. Hopefully it isn't in a loop.

  18. I find the font 0xA000 Mono by @pippin to work quite well at 7px height on the #InkyPHAT display.
