First for the #FinishOrFrogAlong - the slim band inkle woven from Madeira multi-colour Decora (crazy shiny) cotton threads and a mercerised Ashford cotton weft (table loom waste).

This yarn (thread?) is rage-inducingly impossible to knot and hold it is just so shiny and slippery. And the ends stubbornly split into the 4 threads it is loosely plied from. But reinforced with extra tight ties before and after the knots, it held up fine as the band was pulled around the inkle.

In the sun, the colours seem a little washed out. But I think that’s because they are so shiny.

I could see the thread working better with card weaving. But I wanted a simpler test with a known process.

There are shiny remnant threads for an embroidery project now 🦋
