Ok, so the #Infiray #P2Pro appears to simply enumerate as a USB UVC device (webcam).
You can just open the device and already get a pre-processed b/w video stream. That's cool, but not quite what I'm after.
According to the USB descriptors, there is a second ("hidden") UVC frame type available, with double the vertical resolution.
Changing to that resolution, there appears to be some kind of additional data in the lower half (raw data?) and VLC has trouble decoding the frame (it's twice as wide) -
