Maria 's talk on ASPA semantics is excellent feedback on the #IETF draft process.
The #opensource team has recently been formed there specifically to bridge this gap between Open Source developers & IETF protocol architects.

I'm increasingly convinced the IAB/IESG needs to define a special process before having any consideration or publication of "IPvN" drafts, in the same way that the patent office needed to special-case perpetual motion machines. There's been a disproportionate amount of time and effort from single-author proposals (eg, "IPv8", "IPv10") that has gone into discussing them, including lots of thrash from lots of non-technical folks asking if they need to care about them. The Register article on IPv8 is likely not helping either.
While there should be a path to innovation in the future, any change to the neck of the internet's hourglass is a massive multi-stakeholder undertaking.

“Well known” to be its own incompatible standard and also squatting on the OpenPGP v4 code point. There is no OpenPGP v4, and technically this is a trademark violation of the OpenPGP trademark owned by #ietf

Todo lo que voy a decir de IPv8: es un despropósito, tal vez con buenas intenciones, pero no resuelve los problemas de fondo que han hecho que la implementación de IPv6 continúe siendo lenta. Tiene el mismo futuro que IPv10 o IPv4+ (a grandes rasgos se parece más a esta): ninguno. Ya tenemos IPv6 que resuelve el límite de número de direcciones e incorpora muchas mejoras de diseño respecto a IPv4, en vez de darle entidad a propuestas de baja calidad trabajemos en implementar IPv6. #InternetProtocol #ipv6 #ipv8 #ietf #networks

Wow, from 123 spam, phishing, and sphere phishing mails 114 were towards the address I used for the #TLS #serverAuth related proposal on the #IETF mailing list.If not for those spam mails I would have entirely forgotten about that draft by now...
There was one person from the google ca program in the loop but besides getting pissy about being asked to point some of his coworkers towards the mailing list noting really happened...
