I am indeed giving in to the intrusive thoughts and buying myself a new Android tablet, one that has real actual pen support and not just "conductive rubber tipped stylus that doesn't tap the correct place half the time"

That said, I'm looking for recommendations, specifically this... has anybody owned or used a Lenovo Idea Pad?

Lenovo and Samsung seem to be the only real competitors in the "tablets that have their own dedicated pens" field, excluding the big obvious "fruit-flavored" brand, which I do not touch.

I have experience with Samsung tablets, but I've never gotten my hands on a Lenovo and am curious if anybody used one with the pen and how the pen felt, responded, etc

My new #Lenovo #IdeaPad has a not-so-great display (which PCMag and CDNET reviews were quick to point out). But two things with #Linux Mint have really helped: the VibrantLinux program and taking the time to adjust font size and "zoom" on websites (I use Zen and learned that ctrl+ and ctrl- are great shortcuts). I tried using fractional scaling but was getting annoying screen-tearing. Even tweaking key scripts weren't helping. So playing with the settings gave me much better results.

Gekauft hab ich den 2020 und jetzt schlawenzel ich grad drum rum, ob ich in einen neuen mit einem Ryzen AI 300 investieren soll, mit der Radeon 880M drin 🤔

Tried enabling debug/advanced BIOS: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Lenovo_IdeaPad_5_Pro_14ACN6#Hidden_BIOS_menus

It didn't work, just a black screen. Now turning it back on normally, it won't post. Esc, power and NumLock solid on + fans spin up slowly.

I have tried: holding power, leaving it to sit with CMOS (?) + battery unplugged, NOVA button (gives double beep when held)

I'm curently trying to #install #ArchLinux on an "old" #laptop, (an #IdeaPad 110-15iBR gifted to me, to be precise) but I might be stupid, but even following the wiki's instructions, I keep failing.

Might it be possible to have some #help from you, to see whut I'm missing? I know it would mean I vold have to stay up at night, since I'm #French and you #Australian, but I'm just THAT #desperate.

2. 2xUSB-A -> USB-C

Monitor works with Lenovo Thinkpak T490 with both cables (1. and 2.), OS Windows 11.

I tried on my Lenovo ideapad Y580, where are only USB-A ports (possible usage only 2.), OS linux, but it not work.

Any idea how to bring it work?

I've got an quite unignorable #Linux #Kernel #regression on #Fedora 🫣

Always happens after waking up from sleep. 😴
If never set to sleep, it doesn't happen. 🤷🏼

Got a #Lenovo #IdeaPad #IdeaPadFlex5 with an #AMD #Ryzen4000 in it.
Affected are at least 6.12.6 & 6.12.7, last working I've still installed is 6.12.4

Problem: Laptop monitor flickers when switching on from standby.

This does not happen:
- the first time it is switched on/restarted without standby
- when it is connected to the power supply

Do you think the backlight is the problem? Everything else works. (even touch)

#followerpower Problem: Laptopmonitor flackert beim Einschalten aus Standby.

Dies passiert nicht:
- beim ersten Einschalten/Neustart ohne Standby
- wenn er am Strom hängt

Vernute ja das Backlight ist das Problem? Sonst funktioniert alles. (sogar touch)

Bin auf dem Weg zum #38c3. 🫣
