#ICLR2026 decisions are coming out now on OpenReview. Props to the metareviewers, who had a very difficult job, but stepped up in a time of crisis when the community needed them. I appreciate you.

CfP: AI for Peace Workshop @ ICLR 2026
This workshop creates a dedicated space within the ML community to critically address AI’s dual-use nature, militarization, and surveillance, while foregrounding peace-building, ethics, and international law. Contributions are invited on AI disarmament, governance of dual-use technologies, sociotechnical audits, and non-violent applications of AI.

🤖🚨 Breaking news: AI researchers at ICLR 2026 are seeing things that aren't there! 50 #citations magically appeared, fooling 35 allegedly competent reviewers. Clearly, hallucinating citations is the new peer-reviewed art form! 🎨👻

Each one of you too could be publishing 100+ papers each year at #AI conferences, what are you waiting for? More is always better. Remember, this is how we get to AGI which then will tell us how to make money and save the planet. #neurips2025 #ICLR2026

Apparently we've reached the stage where we're happy that *only* 1% of the papers submitted to #ICLR2026 were fully AI-generated, and *all of* 61% were *mostly human-written*.
Sure, it's much less than the 21% fully AI-written reviews citing nonexistent references (yes, in 2025) and asking for meaningless additional experiments.
I guess we've made our bed and we're lying in it.
Did anyone do a version of the "this is fine" flame-surrounded dog, but it's ML papers and reviews burning? (Please don't automatically generate one, thanks.)

Yesterday, an #OpenReview vulnerability led to the leak of reviewer identities of all the major academic AI conferences, including the ongoing #ICLR2026 conferences. #ICLRLeaks This is both a huge disaster, and an opportunity to tackle the serious flaws of AI research. eu.36kr.com/en/p/3572028...
