Documents and Desktop in iCloud Drive has been so reliable (I do have offsite backups) that I would happily pay for more storage. We are using 900gb/2tb so have plenty of headspace, but this experience of my data everywhere has been just awesome. #Apple #iclouddrive

Apple kończy wsparcie iCloud dla iOS 10 i macOS Sierra
Apple oficjalnie wyłączyło obsługę iCloud na urządzeniach działających pod kontrolą iOS 10 i macOS Sierra. Od teraz minimalnym wymaganiem są systemy iOS 11 lub macOS High Sierra.
Oznacza to, że kluczowe usługi takie jak iCloud Drive, Zdjęcia iCloud, Backupy iCloud, Pęk kluczy i Find My nie będą działały na starszych urządzeniach.
iOS 10 i macOS Sierra zadebiutowały we wrześniu 2016 roku. W praktyce zmiana dotyczy m.in. iPhone’a 5, iPhone’a 5c i iPada 4. generacji, które nie otrzymają już dostępu do iCloud.
W przypadku komputerów Mac sytuacja wygląda łagodniej – wszystkie modele zgodne z macOS Sierra obsługują również macOS High Sierra, więc użytkownicy mogą zaktualizować swoje urządzenia do ostatniego wspieranego systemu.

Bon, dans le cadre de la sécurisation de mes données, je viens de supprimer l’ensemble du contenu de mon #onedrive et de le basculer sur #iCloudDrive.
C’est pas encore le top mais, c’est déjà ça…
Maintenant, il va falloir que j’apprenne à travailler, notamment sur PC, en me passant de la suite #office365… en espérant que cela ne soit pas trop laborieux…
#onlyoffice me semble le plus adéquat.

Combined Public Service Announcement and Today I Learned: if you have `CLICOLOR=1` on macOS, if you do an `ls` of a directory which is inside iCloud Drive, evicted files (i.e., those that cannot be immediately used, but need to be downloaded first from iCloud) show with a grey background… see below:
First, both files are in iCloud, but not locally available. They have a dotted cloud icons in the iCloud Status field of the Finder window, and a greyed background in the output of the `ls` command.
Second, the `cssday.pdf` file shows a filled circle with a down arrow as part of their iCloud Status, which represents the "Keep Downloaded" option (i.e., the file has been downloaded and is locally available), while the other file keeps the dotted cloud icon. Der Versuch, #logseq Notizen über #icloud zu synchronisieren ist dann doch auch eher #painInTheAss, was wohl auch daran liegt, dass #macos und #ipados unterschiedlich mit dem #iCloudDrive umgehen…

Ich mag #tidal wirklich. Nach drei Monaten Test-Abo #applemusic merke ich aber, dass es - oh Wunder - besser in die Apple-Welt integriert. Und das Angebot finde ich gleichermaßen gut - auch wenn ich die individuellen Mixe von TIDAL echt super finde.
Nun die Frage: Lohnen sich die 8€ mehr für #appleone? #iclouddrive nutze ich schon ohne Upgrade bisher. #appletvplus bisher nicht.

iCloud Drive has to be the slowest file sync system I've used. It would seem each file that needs to be synced takes seconds for both the iCloud server and the Mac to agree if it needs to be uploaded or downloaded. At first glance, that seems fine, but try syncing a Git repo. Then try several. fileproviderd and bird processes get pegged at >100% CPU. The only way I've found iCloud Drive to back up at any pace is to zip the file you want to save and sync that archive. #IcloudDrive #icloud

Any clues? I am completely stumped. From #Apple #Wallet app, I exported a CSV of transactions. The default location says the file went into a folder called “Wallet” in #iCloud #Drive. But when I open the #Files/ #iCloudDrive app, I can’t find it anywhere. Nor within the On My Phone section. If I try re-exporting, I see the original CSV there that can be overwritten/replaced by the new one. What gives?

Update: iCloud Drive is fully functioning again as far as I can tell. Mac is fully synced as a replicating file storage provider (no Optimize Storage turned on). iPhone worked immediately but iPad needed a jump start by turning it off and on again. Apple support meant to call me today but “forgot”? #iCloud #iCloudDrive

Update: iCloud Drive has started syncing again, showing almost all of the 82 GB in there. Aha! Apple was going to call me tomorrow, but maybe I'll call in today to see if there's an update in my case. 14 days since the issues started, 13 days since I opened the case with Apple Support. #iCloud #iCloudDrive
