Some days ago I took part in the rookie run of Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival.
This would have been my second trailrunning event and a very good test for the T33 Trail at the Montafon-Arlberg Marathon, which takes place at the end of June, if I hadn't had to pause my training for a total of about two and a half months due to three different injuries since Christmas. As it was, it was still an absolutely spectacular experience to participate in such a large event for the first time. It certainly won't be the last.

Today I ran the 25km distance at the #Innsbruck #IATF and was quite satisfied overall. Last yr I found it very challenging due to the heat at the time, but today it was great #TrailRunning with 1300 runners of the same distance.
The 800m of elev gain were manageable, and at the next event in August I will try to break the 1800m
And I noticed that as a 52yo runner, I've already been classified as a senior ... that escalated quickly ...

Recovery day, no #running today!
All because I'll be running a 25km/800m elev. gain HM at the #Innsbruck Alpine #TrailRun Festival on Sat. Last year I ran the same event and that wasn't so good because the weather was very hot and I started off too fast, and by the end the hammer was about to knock me down.
But this year it should be better, or quite the opposite, as snow is expected to get close to the max elev of the course.

I did a different kind of run yesterday. Staying on the #faroeislands I took the chance to do some #trailrunning on the island of #Stremoy Very happy that I had such nice weather and spectacular views. Best thing: this was my first real trail adventure since my injury during #k65 at #iatf. And it went well: no pain, no problems though I‘m still lacking a lot of training.

My #HalfMarathon at the #IATF is about to start in about 1hr and I just picked up my stuff.
27km #TrailRunning ahead of me in perfect #running conditions and I'm very looking forward to it 😁

I'm very much looking forward to my next #running adventure on Sat: I'll be running the 27km #HalfMarathon at the #Innsbruck Alpine #TrailRunning Festival that takes place from Jun 1st to 3rd
This will be my longest trail run so far, and I'm curious to see how I do on the course. The main thing however is not the time it takes but that I arrive at the finish line in such a way that I can enjoy a cold beer there with my colleague @stefanonegri 😁

A very nice Sunday #run on this beautiful spring afternoon. You can really feel how nature is almost tearing apart with spring!
Next on my list is a trail run at the #Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival in early June
