  1. Is there anything on here that tells you if someone else's post has been deleted? The way content comes together here is confusing to begin with and I can't tell if there's posts that I'm missing in conversations, or maybe some posts have been deleted? Would I be able to tell if they were?

... Assuming they were deleted on all instances, not something deleted from mine only ... I don't even know if I'm describing this question clearly.

  2. I was considering joining/testing Hive but then they had that security issue. Which made me realize…

How does anyone know if their instance’s server is secure? Could we all be living the same reality over here on #mastodon?

  3. @chema Off topic for this conversation, but on topic for #HowDoesThisThingWork

How did you reply and it showed up in my mentions without any handles? 🤯

  4. The way people can use this #tech to make small #digital communities is very interesting and cool.

Are there ways that people who aren’t #techsavy can set up private instances for family and friends?

I feel like I have never had so many questions about something in my life. But alas, I’m a #Blerd who is big on #communications and this is 😕 🤯 😬 🥰 🥴🥳 all at once.

  9. I saw somewhere that the "author" (I think) doesn't get notified when you boost a post, and so you should like at the same time. Did that used to be true? Is it true on some instances?

I get notified of boots from ppl who don't follow me & their likes as well. That's fine, maybe they mean both! I'm just wondering if there was or is some technical limitation that encouraged the behavior

#HowDoesThisThingWork (This might be my new #. Other confused ppl can use it too. Probably should be shorter)

  10. What does it mean if folks from a limited server are trying to follow me?

Can they already see my posts in their timelines? (I know everyone can see by going to my profile page.)

What happens if I accept their request? Like if they are federating with a server that's suspended here would someone on the limited server be able to boost my posts to a suspended one?
