Considering draining and disconnecting my (methane gas) #WaterHeater for the duration of the #HeatWave. I understand it's unsafe to simply turn it off, because bacteria could grow in the stagnant lukewarm water, but removing the water should eliminate that problem. (Also apparently you're supposed to regularly drain your water heater to remove sediment from the bottom of the tank? Who knew.)
Is this a good plan? Are there major downsides to not having #HotWater, even in dangerously hot weather?
