Once again I got to engage in my favorite hobby of hating Admin #UX !
Today it was Watchguard Firebox #UI
So... we're moving our company office. We filed a ticket to our ISP telling them to cancel our service early next month.
They cancelled it today. WTAF. 😡
We quickly logged into the ISP's website to reinstate the service, but in doing so, our network configuration things (IP address, etc) changed, and so we had to update our router's network information to match.
This is annoying, but not entirely unusual, we'll just log into the router and update the stuff to match…
HOWEVER, due to some over-complicated configurations by previous employees, our router (a Watchguard Firebox) was stuck with some settings it wouldn't let us change.
We were left scrambling to update the network configurations, and kept hitting an error saying that we couldn't, because it was in use by a VLAN.
The offending VLAN was nowhere to be seen in the list.
Hours of stressing as the rest of the company sat around complaining about lack of internet, some folks went to WFH, generally not a good time.
And then my coworker discovered that the VLAN list had hidden entries if you **scrolled down**
No indication in the UI that it was a frame. No scrollbars. No "more”. No arrows, no gradient... nothing.

Today's #HorribleAdminUX is brought to you by the #Zendesk admin interface.
I'M SURE SOMEONE TOLD YOU TO MAKE YOUR ADMIN INTERFACE MOBILE FRIENDLY, BUT IN THE PROCESS YOU'VE MADE IT THE MOST DESKTOP HOSTILE THING I'VE SEEN ALL DAY.
