@ericsfraga We have (as usual) large #hornet nests in various places, eg in a shed. Under one are large amounts of dead insects (including a really smelly, black “juice”) and eg smaller #wasp parts, which these “Vespa carbro” eats. Might be the same at your location: large hornets feasting on smaller wasps, reducing their numbers. Last year I could study a constant flow of many, large worker hornets continuously airlifting bees and other polinators from a large, blooming Common Ivy. #insects #garden #biotope

These are so rare now. I think #CashForClunkers killed the vast majority of the #LawnArt that was surviving during the noughties. Last laid eyes on one in the '90s.
