#herzner — Public Fediverse posts

At the risk of sounding like a #herzner shill, working with #ovhcloud really makes me appreciate hetzner. With OVH had to apply to get a server using my ID and wait for humans to approve it. (Annoying but ok). Then when I was approved it was for one month. I then had to apply for the ability to automatically pay each month automatically. Again waiting for a human. This was all for a few cheap instances for things like crash reporting. That and each page load taking 2 seconds. How is OVH alive?

I migrated my #VPS to #Herzner.

6.37 EUR / month for a node with 4 GB of RAM is pretty good. The VPS is now in a German data center. I don't think it matters much, as it's behind Cloudflare anyway.

I'm tempted to self-host #Mastodon at this point 🙂 Or a #JVM app 🥹
