  1. 7/10 for #CDrama #HereWeMeetAgain
This Drama started well and held up well until around episode 26/32. Wu Qian's FL was genuinely independent and self-assured, and her character grew and matured well. That's why I stuck it out and ended up still giving it 7/10 when I came VERY close to dropping it in the final 4.

  2. The #CDrama #HereWeMeetAgain is great fun and with 4 eps to go, it's looking lkike getting an 8.5/10 for me, for its genuinely independent FL and a great sense of humour throughout. Scoring it down for the ML who says at one point "the most important thing in a long-distance relationship is trust. Let's not ever keep secrets" and then repeatedly tells the FL NOTHING about stuff going on his life - including one situation in which he might have been critically injured

  3. And once again, #CDrama #HereWeMeetAgain delights me with its genuinely self-assured FL. That Ms Wu does such a great job of the character doesn't hurt, either😀 😍

  4. And with the annoying prudishness of many #CDramas this scene in #HereWeMeetAgain was amusing: A character asks the OTP "how long have you been together?" The ML answers from when they started dating, the FL from when they got physical. (ONJ earworm) 😀

  5. A great example of why I am sticking with #CDrama #HereWeMeetAgain - the FL draws a heart for the ML by flying a helicopter while he is tracking the flight path on a satnav app. The other way round would be much more common in all East Asian Dramas, I'm sure

  6. CW: Finished #HiddenLove #HereWeMeetAgain and #BokunoDaisukinaTsuma!

@spudley apologies for butting in so late after your toot, but I'm watching #HereWeMeetAgain at the moment and agree with your comments about the subs. They're not the worst #CDrama subs I've seen but the nuance is definitely off. Wu Xian is making me love her all over again, though 😀

Also totally agree with your views on #HiddenLove, loved that show. And the scene where the FL verbally shut down stalker girl showed GOOD subs

  7. Into the final 10 of #CDrama #HereWeMeetAgain and Wu Qian is killing it - the OTP have been given some quality romcom material and her delivery is perfect

  8. 20/32 into #CDrama #HereWeMeetAgain and it continues to avoid the Drop. The truth of one complaint about it on MDL has been amply verified though. One reviewer complained about the staggering volume of crassly overt PPL. They were not kidding. To use a #KDrama comparison, the PPL in this Drama makes Subway's seem so subtle it's subliminal 🙄

  9. #CDrama #HereWeMeetAgain good enough that I've not dropped yet, at 18/32. Wu Qian's performance as FL is good, & her character isn't yet as helpless as many #CDrama FLs end up: When lured into a locked room, she used a drill to take out the hinges & set herself free. BUT the patriarchal primacy of the ML is starting to show, sadly. She's a god-level gamer, but the maestro who taught her everything & disappeared when she was in Uni will, ofc, turn out to be the ML

  10. Into ep 13 of #CDrama #HereWeMeetAgain and Wu Qian is making me want to rewatch #LeCoupDeFoudre again. There's still a long way to go, but it's not bad so far. Although how a character can describe the FL as the daughter of her late best friend without knowing said daughter is also the Chairman's granddaughter is a bit of a stretch.

  11. Ah the glory of Google's AI "enhanced" search: Watching #CDrama #HereWeMeetAgain and seeing a scene featuring snow in Shanghai, I google "how often does it snow in Shanghai?" This was the headline result, copy-pasted verbatim

Snow is rare in Shanghai, but winter is the driest season of the year in this international bigalopolis while it receives more than 5 hours of sunshine.

  12. I'm always happy to see a Drama acknowledge its use of a stock gimmick #HereWeMeetAgain #CDrama 😆

  13. Breaking my own #CDrama rule by starting one over 30 eps. The delightful Wu Qian had better make those extra 2 worth my while #HereWeMeetAgain

  14. CW: Finished #HiddenLove #HereWeMeetAgain and #BokunoDaisukinaTsuma!

Been watching a lot of #cdramas recently and the odd #jdrama. Finished #HiddenLove #HereWeMeetAgain and #BokunoDaisukinaTsuma!

Boku no Daisuki na Tsuma! - Was a super cute adaption. I actually read some of the manga, so I was stoked when I found the live action show. The interactions between MC/FMC were always hilarious and loving. Wish the show was longer but there's only 6 volumes of source material, not sure how much they burned through.

The biggest thing that bothered me was how they portrayed the relationship start and the "surprise" of the adhd diagnosis. In the jdrama they are married with seemingly no to little explained relationship and then the diagnosis is very briefly disbelieved by MC as not possible. Which isn't how it's introduced in the manga afaik. Didn't ruin the show for me, but was an annoying start.

Hidden Love - There's a reason why this cdrama is so highly rated, beautiful show and romance. Very much a slow burn, but it pays off. The age gap was well handled imo and they address it in plot a couple times as well. As expected the show had typical chinese tropes but they were reasonably dealt with, which showed character growth along with MC overcoming prejudice and adversity. Leads had great chemistry.

Here We Meet Again - I watched this right after finishing Hidden Love as I needed a not so slow burn romance and was tired of 2 back to back college romance cdramas (The Best of You in My Mind). It delivered for me. Loads of tropes, but the laughs and corporate revenge made up for it. 3 things took away from the show for me though, 1) some of the product placement was rough and super obvious/outlandish. 2) HEAVY propaganda for BeiDou/BDNSS, there were many multi-minute long spiels/speeches about it when it was only tangentially related to the topic at hand or felt really out of place at that particular moment. 3) Maybe the subs I had were not the greatest, but some of the conflicts between MC/FMC were not properly explained. Which made for some awkward conflict towards the end of the show(MC becoming CTO, and then the emergency funding woes/refunds). That closing scene at the government office was hilarious though.
