#Hepatitis B and C claimed the lives of 1.13 to 1.3 million people in 2023/2024, mainly due to associated #liverCancer and #cirrhosis (#GBDstudy, #WHO). The #trend is still increasing.
The prevalence of #HepatitisB infection among #children under five decreased from 0.8% in 2015 to 0.6% in 2024 – far off track to meet the WHO #target of 0.1% by 2030.

Es geht um eine Studie zur Impfung gegen #HepatitisB bei Neugeborenen in Guinea-Bissau, die von einer Gruppe ... nun ja ... "umstrittenen" dänischen Forschys durchgeführt von der trumpistischen CDC finanziert werden sollte.
Sie ist unethisch, weil Neugeborenen in der "Kontrollgruppe" eine seit vielen Jahren bestens dokumentierte Impfung vorenthalten werden sollte. Guinea-Bissau ist eines der ärmsten Länder Afrikas mit einer besonders hohen Rate an HepatitisB. Eine Ansteckung bei oder knapp nach der Geburt ist mit besonders schweren Folgen verbunden.
Und sie ist natürlich auch rassistisch, denn man darf annehmen, dass die Studie weder in Dänemark, noch in den USA so durchgeführt würde.
