::sigh:: This winter has hit us very hard with extra money woes. Being on a fixed income makes it hard to come up with money for big bills. Our 30 year old washer finally died (no parts available for it at all, so no repair though it's probably very fixable, I don't have the wherewithal to find someone able to fix it, it's complicated where we live). So we need a new one. Our car was finally to a point where it needed replacement, another chunk plus adding a car payment to our expenses for years. Now we're struggling to heat the house because of damage in our wood shed that meant we didn't buy any wood for this winter but it's been colder this winter than it has been for at least three years. Which means I'm burning through our firewood and I still have at least two months of needing wood heat.

And this is just my personal shit. I haven't even gotten into the whole weight of the horrors.

On the up side, I emceed our Rainbow Bridge Community Center (queer people not dead pets) fund raiser cabaret on Saturday and it went VERY well. We had a good diversity of acts. The belly dancing duo was a big hit. And I was able (because of some grants) to pay the performers $100/set/person. I didn't do as well as I would have liked as the emcee but hopefully next year I can actually prep some dialog and practice with a mic.
