Key Highlights from the #London Assembly #Transport Committee Agenda – 9 December 2025:
A report due for consideration on 9 December 2025 shows that, despite #TfL introducing measures such as new bus lanes and priority traffic signals, average bus speeds across London have continued to fall since the 2020/21 Assembly year.
The committee also reviewed road space, driving and congestion at its 12 November session, taking evidence from #Logistics #UK, the Road #Haulage Association and Future City Logistics. Witnesses highlighted the sharp rise in home parcel deliveries and the strain this places on London’s road network. They noted difficulties in distinguishing delivery vehicles from tradespeople’s vans, described as ‘mobile toolboxes’. Low public uptake of parcel lockers was said to fragment deliveries and reduce efficiency. The meeting ended with an agreement for further data on decarbonising road logistics and potential improvements to London Plan policies.
