For a person who calls himself a science educator, and has self-awareness of the scope of his online influence, it's sad to see Hank Green admitting that he's been using an LLM to "help" write the scripts for his videos.

Hank Green's hand-wringing and "Yeah, but"-type justifications look familiar. It's the same talk I've heard from several other highly intelligent people, some of them friends I've known for years. They think their intelligence, reasoning skills, and experience with computers/science makes them immune to some all-too-human cognitive biases and emotional manipulation. This confidence makes them an ideal target, and puts them on the path to cognitive surrender to LLMs.

If you didn't see the video SciShow knitting video, it is full of misinformation, lazy science, and misogyny. I love SciShow, but that was irresponsible. As a female scientist and crocheter, this correction video by Evie was very affirming.
