Haiku R1 Beta 6 is now available!

Almost two years after the release of Haiku R1 Beta 5, the sixth beta version is now available for users to try out on their computers. One week ahead of the 25th year anniversary of the operating system, this marks a huge milestone for this OS inspired by BeOS.

Over the last two years, there have been many changes done, including new hardware drivers to support more devices and other general improvements, such as performance. The sixth beta also introduces support for many working apps, such as Firefox, a Haiku port for the Go programming language, and much more.

For those who use Haiku with QEMU as the virtualization backend, the NetBSD Virtual Machine Monitor (NVMM) has also been added to support hardware virtualization. This way, Haiku will start faster than before on QEMU virtual machines. However, this is an experimental feature.
