  1. Beartrack Trail goes up Silver Run Plateau from either Rock Crk. or W-fork canyons. Used W-fork approach w 2350m start. First 6K are in 8000 ha 2008 Cascade Burn. Can't be in there when its windy, hot or ⚡️️. None of that today, cool fall conditions, ice on the trail above 2600m. 28K hike by ascending to 3230m pass, then around/up a ridge. A ramp goes eventually to 3824m, highest plateau point. Some tundra colors 3C SE breeze where we turned back 3350m. #climate #hiking #dogs #montana #gye

  3. Only subtle fall hints showing in Lakefork Canyon behind town during our run today from 2200m start to 2450m then back. Cool at least 10-13C, not too dry. The Lake Fk. of Rock Crk. is lower now, at baseflow. Lots Aspen all thru Beartooth Front/higher terrain behind have some kind of disease, blackening leaves, many bare already. Probably the early spring warmth then May ❄️ weakened them. Sign of the times. #climate #running #dogs #montana #gye #mountains
