He said the federal government should also consider whether to impose additional export tariffs or taxes on shipments of U.S. thermal coal through B.C. port facilities.
Eby said he understands from Canada’s side that progress was being made on softwood lumber during the trade talks.
"And it is disappointing obviously that that wasn't made real in terms of the new agreement. But let's not be naive about this; any agreement that would have been signed with this president wouldn't have lasted as long as it took him to write his signature," he said.
"The only way to deal with a thug and a bully is to stand up to him, that's why the prime minister's step was the right one.””

Now that #Carney has (finally) decided to stop trying to appease the orange menace, who can't be trusted to honour a deal he himself makes, we should start making the hard decisions.
For one, cancel the F-35 deal - at least anything we're not 100% legally committed to. Partner with Saab and build the Gripen here in Canada.
Ideally I'd like to take the handful of F-35s we already have, land them on the White House lawn, and set them on fire.

Frage mich, wofür die USA überhaupt noch gut sind in der NATO, wenn sie eh ihre Truppen für ihre eigene Kriege und Konflikte brauchen. Die nukleare Teilhabe ist durch Trump so risikobehaftet, dass es sie eh nur auf dem Papier existiert. Also zunächst Gripen holen bis der 5,5 oder 6 Gen Fighter kommt. GlobalEye bekommen wir eh schon.
