Red velvet cake, with cream cheese filling and a chocolate ganache drizzle over the top and down the sides... with cho dipped starwberries.
Made by a wonderful lady I know who used to run one of the best cake and coffee cafe's in the area... But who gave up the lease last year because the local council were fucking them about over the lease... and turns out, wanted to install some one else in the premises instead... spent a load of money refurbishing it only for it to be selling garbage, pre packed crap food.
But I kept in touch, and she still bakes cakes on the side for people... and her prices are ridiculous. A 3 tier cake that will give you 14-16 slices, decorated... £25... Most people would charge 3x that without half the effort.
I keep telling her to charge more, I try to give her more... she refuses.
She's made all our cakes now for the last 3yrs.

Image 1: Making a smokey sauce for a mac n cheese. Make a bechemel base, add a couple of M&S smokey stock pots, mix in a tub of mascapone, 150g of mozzarella and 75g of grated mature cheddar. Add 200g of pancetta crisped up in a pan. Leave to simmer on the lowest setting.
Image 2: Whislt you've been doing the sauce, cook up 500g of macaroni to about 80% done. You don;t want to overcook it. Mix into the simmering sauce and stir gently until everything coated. Leave for a further few mins before taking it off the heat.
Image 3: Serve a portion with a salad if you like as my mum chose to do.
Image 4: place a portion into an oven dish, add some ham, some mozzarella over the top and pop in the oven to crisp up.
