While #GoDaddy gets a bad rap, and I sometimes have to navigate through marketing fluff to manage my websites hosted there, it's also based in #Arizona... and, to my knowledge, it hasn't gone down in the same intense storms. 🤞

#TIL that #GoDaddy has inserted "pay" subdomains into all our company domains that direct people to godaddy's new web payments service.

GoDaddy support denies this, says someone had to turn it on. I ask for the audit logs because I'm the only one with keys to our domains right now.
"We don't have an audit log" GoDaddy says
"So you can't prove you didn't do it?" I ask
"goDaddy would never blah blah blah"

So anyway we're now moving to a new registrar

This is a thread about how shitty #GoDaddy is.
Last week a scammer started sending out emails impersonating my employer's recruiter, offering people fake job interviews.
The typosquatting domain and email service they're using are hosted at GoDaddy.
Today I filed a GoDaddy abuse complaint.
The complaint form doesn't ask for evidence, nor does it support uploading evidence as attachments. I assumed they would follow up with a request for the desired evidence.

“NoDaddy” is a pretty dumb label this month, from a #GoDaddy marketing director nonetheless.

(Not to mention that attacking your detractors is a well-proven way to never win them back, again from a marketing director nonetheless.)

I am pleased to report that, as of today, #GoDaddy has lost my business and the business of *every* *single* *one* of my clients. That's 26 accounts across more than 1600 domains. Many of those clients had been with them since the 1990s.

Overnight (Central Time), 313 Team claimed responsibility for taking down GoDaddy with a DDoS attack.

313 Team said they terminated their attack around 5:13, due to GoDaddy putting mitigations in place. GoDaddy's website remains inaccessible with an "Access Denied" error.
