Eh… you have ‘great expectations’ for this show, sry to dissapoint but…You’re right of course, #Insiders is not a without its right-wing neoliberal bias. Not only is the bias evidenced by the ‘in your face’ #Host, it’s in your face in the limited variety of guests appearances (with few exceptions amongst the panel). For all the information/news it provides, you might as well watch #FoxNewstainment and risk being brainwashed like an increasing proportion of Australian voters.

“Factcheck: The ABC’s claim that "8 million rely on income support" conflated paid sick leave with income support”
When I read the ABC article, my mind did a backflip. We have a population of what? Some 25M ? 8M are on inscome support? That’s a little less than a Third of the population on income support? Wow, ‘No Way’ my mind said. Thats’ like, 1 in 3 ? Freaking hell!

@amyfallon
As long as they keep appointing pseudo-journalists (aka neoliberal propagandists) to management roles in the ABC, it’s not going to be reporting without bias and therefore utterly Fail to “inform’ the public.They try to cover their obvious bias by offering ‘both-sideism’, which does not do.

@InsurgoFormica
TBH, Whether 9, 7 or 10, it’s all shit and only marginally better than TrollFoxNews. SBS is bland enough and ABC is chaotic. I’m not a happy with the slop we get on free to air period. Ergo, I don’t watch very often at all.I prefer to see reportage, editorials, opinions and analysis in print(digital). Makes it easier to have a good think about what is said (written) and to spot mis-disinformation.

That headline is a slurr on the capability and capacity of the #EU to face off with #Russia, which has a comparatively low population and a smaller economy. That we doubt the EU’s resolve to act as guarantor of #Ukraine’s security is another matter altogether. Not good #ABC… I’m not seeing any improvement in your ‘reporting’ and cannot recognise #MyABC still. -
@InsurgoFormica @abcfeeds
If that were the only reason… but I suspect that the ABC management simply refuses to read the room and possibly genuinely fears a progressive agenda. Mush for brains and self-interests seem to be the ABC moto these days.What gets me angry is the lack of govt intervention into what is clearly a hostile (to Labor) ABC management…

This opposition to renewable power generation and storage is indicative of a poorly informed public. The onus is on the Victorian govt and investors to conduct extensive consultations and education sessions.
I’d love for the ABC to do a piece on the pros and cons of renewable energy projects. We hear a lot about project being objected to but nothing post-project implementation. Maybe good news isn’t newsworthy anymore…

Bugger, and #SBS was my last resort for news since I no longer watch the #ABC.Our bloody govt should pull out all stops and do something about our #NewsMedia lanscape. We can’t allow wholesale right wing brainwashing of the Australian population. #AlboPM should sack the ABC management and put some #RealJournalists in charge while simultaneously strengthening the ABC code of conduct in line with those of the #AustralianPublicService

Whoa… the ABC is waking up… Am I dreaming this?

Social media should be swamped with more of this:
“ABC staff work tirelessly to build and maintain the ABC’s independence and integrity. It is the board’s legal duty to protect that independence and integrity. But time and again we see ABC chairs and managing directors do the opposite.”
Source:
https://www.meaa.org/mediaroom/abc-staff-disgusted-by-handling-of-lattouf-case/Social Media should be swamped by similar statements from ABC employees (anonymously of course) and fair-dinkum journos ought to expose more… we ought to get back our ABC given we cannot fight the dis-misinformation crud our mainstream media outlets are dishing out.
Australians are owed the truth, not propaganda, nor ‘normalisation’ of abhorrent political swill.

So the govt’s Health budget is in deficit… so what? What I wanted to know from this article is why a ‘blow out’ occured. Which health services growth were underestimated and why? Next I want to know what is being done about the budget deficit in Health and how the govt can improve its budget estimates. Another piece of information that I’d like to know is why the previous Minister for Health didn’t see this coming. None of this was answered by the article. As a report, it’s a job not quite half done. Not a good standard ABC.

And this from #OurABC … the last bastion of impartiality will dig its grave deeper this election round. I’m absolutely done with mainstream and corporate media, nothing good will come from their ‘reporting’. As for the journos propping up this disgusting #ThisIsNotJournalism , they all deserve to get the sack when the Fourth Estate goes belly up.

This is the sort of irresponsible journalism that has been coming out of the ABC for a while now. Look at the headline, no really take a good read. Do you see ‘renewable energy’ in that sentence? Now read he article and try to find those two words again. Good luck because you wont.
So what was the purpose of putting those two words in the headline? Really, why? Why even mention renewables? Isn’t that bow just a bit too long to draw from a copper mining company project to renewable energy? So why do it? Clickbait? Why the need to implicate a link between renewables and competition for water in WA? Why tie renewables with water scacity? Really. WTF did you do it for?

Dave Milner in The Shot (11Oct24j reminds us how the ABC fucked up the Insider programme by appointing ‘#speersie ‘
“Consider also: the people routinely on these Sunday morning couches get worked up when people on Twitter say nasty things about underwhelming reporters. They find their solidarity and cojones when a presenter is under fire for being a bit shit or the profession is slandered, and onto their high-horse they hop. But when a genocidal nation kills fellow journalists, there’s nothing but cowardly silence and endless justification for the ongoing devastation.
One hundred and thirty nine journalists murdered by Israel, for the crime of doing their jobs (or the crime of being Palestinian), only for Australia to excrete the lamest, most boot-licking version of the “the news” possible; a cowed and flailing public broadcaster sharting out vapid talking heads that prattle imperial apologia about Israel’s “right to defend itself” while slaughtering journalists far better than they are.”

Rosemary Sorensson in independentaustralia.net today aced the profile of ABC’s #insiders when she wrote :
”The ABC’s Sunday morning politics program, Insiders, usually lines up a panel of predominantly Murdoch commentators and often has a lead interview with an Opposition spokesperson — someone adorably resistant to the truth like Bridget McKenzie, say, or Simon Birmingham.
Then, host David Speers picks up PR-friendly talking points and lobs them softly over the little net where, with much whirring of arms, the interviewee whacks it back hard and low for Speers to watch it go by.”
Needless to add, I no longer watch Insiders since Speers took over the show.

Does anyone else find that news reporting broadcasts which include ‘background’ musical loops (just had to suffer one on the ABC about the Chinese Premier’s visit) are annoying, mask the clarity of the reporter’s voice (especially when the reporter’s accent is not ‘standard’ - no disrespect intended) and generally makes the listener strain to hear clearly? It doesn’t help that with old age my hearing is impaired.
I do not understand the need to include a musical score (usually banal loops) in news reels/reporting. #Givemebackmyabc #backgroundscores #musicals #abc
