One thing I've realised is no one I know is having a midlife crisis, because none of us have managed to get anywhere or do anything in 45 years on earth. No houses except for the nepo babies, no kids, no money for sports cars. Just student loans and a long string of terrible jobs we barely got paid for We've been freaking out since 17 and eating out of dumpsters half our lives and societal collapse doesn't even seem like a bad thing anymore.
