#ProTip: "Suggested edits" in #GoogleDocs is a bit of a mess, but you can tell #GDocs to let you preview the doc as if those edits were all accepted. Go to:

Tools -> Review suggested edits

Then in the "Suggested edits" dialog that pops up, use the *dropdown menu* to "Preview 'Accept all'" (make sure you use the dropdown and NOT the buttons)

One of the things we definitively need is a good + open collaborative file share and office product.

It's 2024 and still there hardly seems to be any good alternative to #SharePoint, #Google Docs or other #cloud services.

The #EU should publicly fund a project to solve that issue once and for all on an #FOSS basis.

Please, don't mention #CyptPad or #NextCloud to me, I've used both occasionally. They are not something I consider a usable product for the masses.

Silly google docs question, but it's driving me nuts: how do I change how contact chips fill?

For example, I'll type in a contact's name, select it, and it will replace the name with their email address instead as the chip. Is there any way to make it so it shows their name instead of email?

draft - there seems to be a bug on google docs for android, where, when you make a new doc, and then click the "untitled doc" area, it does nothing. it's supposed to auto-populate with the first sentence of the document to make it easy to title your docs as you go but it appears to be currently not functioning as expected

anyone else having this issue?

In Google docs, we can arrange content (text and images) anyway we want, but we can't make individual messages that can be replied to.

In Google chat, individual messages can be replied to, and we can edit the text of messages, but there's not yet a way to edit / add images to sent messages.

I could ask a recipient to go back to Google docs, and/or continue to use docs in addition to Google chat. But, it'd be nice if GoogleChat would add the ability to add images to sent messages.

I just adore how the list of people to tag in a collaboratively edited GoogleDoc is not in any way based on that googledoc. In fact, I can't determine what it IS based on.

people who use google docs: is there a way to see only the unresolved comments? the comments history tab is a mess and whenever i mark something as solved it gets moved to the top and I can't tell anything apart 😩
