I've been writing a vaguely historical #osr #ttrpg setting recently with the code name #Tudorbox, which is awful but I will likely never change. It's one I use when running #GardensOfYnn because the grounded feel contrasts with Ynn weirdness.
I was going to write a whole system based on #whitebox but I now think the world doesn't need another retroclone/hack. Instead I will put in procedures and advice as to how to use it generally. Some systems it won't fit with but if you want to try why not.

I seem to have wandered into writing up this vaguely Tudor #osr setting that I invented just to run #GardensOfYnn with. Ok that's fine.
The Church is a loose alliance of "Christian" cults for "saints" and "angels" none of whom trust each other but who are prepared to work together to block out heretics. Except when they feud. The Crown encourages feuding and also is into Hermeticism (MUs) to break away from dependence on the occult power of the Church.

Observations from running #GardensOfYnn with #Shadowdark the last couple of days:
1. SD's always-on initiative worked really well for a six player party online. Let's set up the order, we'll use this from now on. Alice, what are you doing. OK, Bob, what are you doing, etc. You never miss anyone out and it's a structure everybody can see.
2. SD is not good if you want the Build Minigame but it provides meaty characters from the get-go. No matter what you roll it can be interesting to play. -
I thought I would run #GardensOfYnn for an online con and the main issue turned out to be what system to use. I like if I can make a character for even a one-shot so that was important; also it had to have publicly-accessible and simple rules, and be easily compatible (Ynn often refers to OSR concepts like 3d6 stats and hit dice).
In the end I decided to go with #Shadowdark. The quickstart with all the player facing rules is free and https://shadowdarklings.net is excellent for characters.

Hmhm just by chance I stumbled over this:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/soulmuppet/gardens-of-ynn?ref=ksr_email_backer_backer_confirmation# #gardensofynn is one of my favorite adventure, although I only briefly played it once. I basically translated it for my own group completely in my language.
Not 100% about this book though, there is very limited examples of the used art and it also doesn't make clear if there were any changes made. #ttrpg
