Looking for PC games like Paperboy, Desert Strike, and SWIV — players and devs, please help

Hey everyone. I’m hunting for games on PC (especially Steam) that capture the feel of three old favorites: Paperboy** — ride a route, throw stuff, dodge chaos in the street, score-chasing, “one more run” arcade loopDesert Strike** — isometric chopper action, mission objectives, rescue/destroy targets, managing fuel/ammo/armorSWIV** — top-down/vertically scrolling shooter with ground + air vehicles, tight arcade shooting, that Silkworm-style chaos Not looking for a 1:1 remake. 🕹️ My Retro Gaming Obsession – From Atari to N64 and Beyond! 🕹️

I’ve been hooked on retro games for as long as I can remember. It all started with the Atari 2600 – those chunky cartridges, the simple joys of Pac-Man, Pitfall! and Space Invaders, and that unmistakable joystick click. Then came the glorious 8-bit computer era:ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and Commodore 64. Hours spent waiting for tapes to load, pixel-perfect platformers, and that pure home-computer magic. The Amiga blew my mind with its graphics and sound… then the 16-bit legends […]

A Gaming Memory by GamerPauly

I remember it being sometime Late October 1999, I walked into a shop selling video games and hardware, spotted some sales assistant playing what looked like a Sonic game on a console, I hadn't seen or heard much about this so I was eager to take a look, the game was Sonic Adventure and the console was the SEGA Dreamcast. I was offered a play on the Sonic which I eagerly accepted, I was asked if I was a big fan of Sonic to which I replied something like "I don't mind a bit of Sonic" and […]

The Future… What lies ahead ?

Hey gamers, its been a tough time for everyone, not just this horrendous (and still going on) heatwave but financially as well for a lot of people. The gaming industry seems to have hit its toughest time yet, so many lay-offs and failed games, and its getting worse not better. The recent decision by Sony to go digital only from 2028 has hit like a lead balloon, what is totally pointless though peeps is the constant and stupid things you are doing, a blackout in a week of August where […]
